To Go Poem by Melvyn Massoumi Goudarzi

To Go

The flickering light in the cold darkness
Brought the distance into my eyes
To know why distance has something to say
To know why I should reach the light
Is it saying it costs to go?
Will I reach where the light might be there waiting?
To go, maybe it’s where I should have been
To reach, maybe it has been another reason to smile

Yet, I don’t know
Whether a candle light can be lasting that I’m going for?
I don’t care how long or short either.
But I care how beautiful it flickers in my heart
That’s why I’m going…
