Once upon a time, on an averagely pretty summer morning, Mama Duck and her ducklings headed out for the day
First came the pretty ducklings, with their perfect yellow feathers
And adorable beaks
At the very end, came one more
This duckling was not pretty like the others
In fact it was quite hideous
I mean if Medusa and the Hunchback of Notre Dame had a duck baby, it would still be nicer to look at
Its feathers were a dirty brown, its beak crooked
This was the ugly duckling
No one cared for the ugly duckling
It was too peculiar, too strange
As it walked down the path the other animals turned their heads away in distaste
For the ugly duckling was nothing like the other ducklings,
With their perfect yellow feathers glowing in the sunlight on the summer sun
As ugly duckling followed behind its family its brown feathers suddenly caught on a rock
"Help! " it cried
"I'm stuck! "
But the beautiful ducklings did not care
They splashed around the lake and laughed on this averagely pretty summer morning without a care in the world
Ugly duckling waved its brown feathers and quacked with its crooked beak,
"Somebody, please help me! Quackly! "
But no one listened
Soon, the pretty ducklings left
Ugly duckling was all alone, its brown feathers caught on a rock
The sun set on this averagely pretty summer day
And ugly duckling eventually stopped crying for help
Because no one listened anyways
