The Sour Lemon Tree Comments

A lemon tree bears beautiful white flowers, but it has fruits that are sour in taste! All fruits cannot be sweet.... some have to be sour, some bitter, some bland, for variety is the spice of life! Each one is ordained to serve a special purpose...! A teacher cannot do the work of a doctor or a plumber, the work of a carpenter! Great poem!

A small gnat carries along a bacteria That causes a grower's histeria For the tree once infected will be its demise Yielding a fruit that's bitter and srunken in size. So maybe its God's plan? To try the patience of man To see if he is willing to make amend And spray on the pesticides that means the gnat's end.
