Go! The race is on!
Down they plummet.
From their start-point.
Atop a mountain summit.
Gathering speed,
Now breakneck speed!
Two skiers racing,
In their daring deed.
The best of friends,
But not right now.
Each one focused,
As down they plough.
Who will win,
Remains to be seen.
An adrenaline rush,
In an Alpine scene.
Twisting and turning,
Round every bend.
Taken at speed,
As they descend.
Fraught with danger,
As precipices loom,
One wrong move,
Can spell their doom.
Two bold skiers.
On top of their game.
The finishing line,
Is each other's aim.
So evenly matched,
Neck and neck.
Keeping each other,
Equally in check.
The finishing line,
Reaches out to greet.
As the race ends,
In a dead heat.
In the race of friendship Though there has competition But has winner....in the race of Poetic wisdom though there has Points for reader but certainly can't Fix the wise.........
Great poem that beautifully captures the pace of a race and a fine way to end...it's a twisting, turning 10 from me!

The superb imagery of this marvelous write made me a witness of a one of a kind competition. Vividly conveyed with precise words that describe the race. Another excellent write, Shaun. So wonderfully written. Onto my Poem List.
