The Pang Of A Leaf

A leaf I'm
vibrant and green in the Spring
dance in joy to the tune of wind
when you adore me as your queen
but as long as I nourish your fruits and flowers
you pamper me saying, "You're mine forever"
But in my Autumn when I turn dull and brown
mercilessly you turn me down
I whirl and twist painfully in the air
but my cries for help never reach your deaf ears!
With a heavy heart I do fall
with a last wish to mingle with the soil,
you blame me for our fragile bond,
why don't you hold me tight with your iron hand?
I lie at your feet to be reduced to manure
to keep you evergreen with my love so pure!
Let a new leaf take my place
to absorb gloom from your face,
to erase forever the trace of my presence
and fill your life with endless happiness!
