He lived like a recluse in his wooded grove,
As he was sceptical of the human race;
Its crude systems and all the problems they wove.
So he devised something better in their place.
Yet no one cared for his ' eccentric' notions.
His wise, intricate plans fell upon deaf ears.
That is the way of the world since creation.
Evolved consciousness is trumped by petty fears.
Now he no longer casts his pearls before swine.
He just sits back and imbibes his vintage wine!
I do not know who the poem is written about, but I am imressed about him, as well as the poet describing him so succinctly. The last two lines: 'Now he no longer casts his pearls before swine. He just sits back and imbibes his vintage wine! ' - Are so interesting and meaningful!
Thanks guys, although it was inspired by Wilhelm Reich, it's basically about a fictional character who is imbued with genius, but rejected by the society in which he lives. It seems to be a recurrent theme throughout the ages....hope this helps clear things up.
