The Lake District: (Cumbria, North West England) Poem by DM W

The Lake District: (Cumbria, North West England)

Rating: 5.0

Immortalised by William Wordsworth,
The Lake District is a place of sublime
Beauty and tranquillity: where green earth
And blue skies coexist in timeless realms
Of harmony. Its valleys, and streams;
Its mountains and hills are picture postcard
Perfect. They are the quintessence of dreams.
They will always inspire painters and bards.

Dominic you used the word perfect in your poem. Perfect. As in peace perfect peace. That is what I feel after reading it and more than fine picture too. For me a needed poem of tranquillity, utter calm and so desired escapism. Superbly well written that doesn't miss a picturesque beat. A full emerald landscape score. And wasn't Last Of The Summer Wine filmed there from time to time. Many, many thanks for your poem of nature's serenity.
