The Grief Has Overwhelmed

The grief for some has overwhelmed
No escaping the tears
Nowhere to hide
Watching from a distance
Hurting inside
Religion forgotten
For months of solitude
We held emotions in check
The lonely needing help
The old fading fast
Returning to health the task
Wearing a mask
Reflecting on the past
And what the future may be like
Torturing ourselves
We have been taught a lesson
We must learn
