The Girl Finally Says Yes

A familiar road I had taken
turned out to be a walk in the woods
and what I had thought was destiny,
turned out to be a dying star
in the hands of a hopeful being
thinking she has been found

When the light finally dawned on me
That is when I thought I was lost
I didn't realize I had been lost
all my life and things had changed
In my wandering, I found God waiting

In the open field, God did show me
the way I should take
But I was hesitant, the road wasn't
like anything I was used to

Never had I been on a one way road
the sign by the roadside, "destiny"
I grew roots, grounded myself on what
I was used to
Stubborn heart, too stubborn to say yes
even to God's will

But some times we're faced with two options
To be nothing and slowly fade away
or to be what we're meant to be
Five years after being trapped in one place
I chose the latter
