Rain plays havoc on the nature and there is water everywhere. Child reacts to rain with innocence as any child would but the flood takes away his hut and also his granpa's life. The poet reminds all of us about the invincibility of nature which is cruel at times on human beings who are destined to receive it. A philosophical poem and good read.

Nautre gives us pleasure as well grief. In this poem in the first stanza you have inscribed the positive side and pleasure where as in the last stanza you have portrayed negative side or the melancholies. The poem is so moving. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Kumaramaniji. Life is momentary, to see both the sides, joy and grief, is mandatory

Thank you Dave Walker. The disasters caused by flood are beyond our imagination as far as the South Asian countries are concerned. The recent flood in Kerala has taken away many lives, houses and belongings. Thank you very much for sharing our sorrow.

I can't imagine the pain these floods cause, we are very lucky here in England. A very heart felt poem.

It seems that Shri.DP has composed it even before the recent flood of Kerala. Congrats to his farsightedness.Such poems are everlasting, applicable to any age, any place. The agony the boy had gone through, will haunt me for a long time.Gorgeous!

Thank you Leela Kumari. Most of these poems were written years back. Thank you for your encouraging words. In order to keep the universality of flood and the disastrous impact, physically and mentally, I chose the boy and his grandpa

Thank you Sat. Bharati Nayak. The change of scene denotes the rapidly of the flood. It came all on a sudden without any warning sign and took away all it could pick up.

A poignant write- - - The joy of child to float paper boat in a stream of rain water , then comes the scene of flood which takes away all, the house and beloved grandpa- - - -Who knows what God wants - - Let me quote from the poem- - Neighbours came and welcomed me Lead me to a burial ground Stopped at a new tomb and said Here is he, could not be saved Jumped in as to save you lad - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - God is sometimes kidding hard Taking away all what we have

Thank you Smt. Bharati Natak. It is hard sometimes to yeild to destiny contrary to our aspirations. But we are helpless to resort to survive it.
