The Broken Man Poem by Mark S

The Broken Man

A broken man hides his pain
Nobody will see his tears
He buries his cries deep inside
And hopes nobody hears

He shares a joke, shares a smile
He'll talk of meaningless things
At night he sits and dreads alone
On what tomorrow brings

Will it bring peace and love
Will his smile reach his eyes
Or will it remain as yesterday
Shattered hopes, dreams and lies

He is a man who fights so hard
To live from day to day
To carry on with a broken heart
He must hide himself away

He loved her so deep
He refused to believe
Her desire to hurt
Her desire to deceive

Now he is broken
No fix in sight

No will, no love
No joy, no light

He'll live this burden forever more
But it does not matter much at all

Just another broken man to ignore
