The Arc
The earth spun like a dreidel
when the poles began to shift
Beneath the crust way down below
hot molten lava pitched
The land was like a blanket
pulled from underneath
All the world's inhabitants
were knocked right off their feet
At a thousand miles an hour
the land raced from the shore
The wind was like a furnace blast
You could hear the ocean roar
Water lumbered far behind
Great waves began to grow
Cresting miles above the land
as the earth began to slow
Somewhere in the distance
an arc was seen to toss
bouncing on the mammoth sea
when everything was lost
Love to last a lifetime
All flesh to multiply
Male and female two by two
With time enough to try
