Teamwork Is A One-Way Track Poem by Mark Heathcote

Teamwork Is A One-Way Track

Teamwork is a one-way track.
All the carriages of a train pull together,
never knowingly slipping backwards.
And if like-minded people are on board,
They can achieve almost anything.
And win every accolade and award.

'No one; I'm doing my own thing,
sink or swim; I know better than that lot.
Her or him.' Division ~ is a fraying rope.
that breaks under any real strain.
And yet, fraternities and a shared humanity
in a group is a strength that can bring meaning
and a better sense of purpose and direction-
to a motivated core.

Sharing the burden of everyday chores
and arriving at new shared goals
builds a team built on caring for one another.
No one individual matters more than any other.
In this way,
every member is a valuable team player.

Great things can be accomplished through teamwork.
If we all pull together, like the great Indian railways,
built by putting one rail down after another.
A topography of labourers from across the world
all coming together in one place.
It can become a true brotherhood, a sisterhood of love.
A geographic network of togetherness.
A train of carriages never slipping backwards
always moving forward,
achieving unimaginable things together.
