Taking Refuge In Death

Rating: 5.0

Across the dark ocean of sleep
My yacht sometimes goes adrift
And is washed ashore the Beach
Of Turkey where little Alan lay dead

The image of the drowned toddler
Lying face down on the waterline
Seemingly giving his last kiss
To Mother Earth made all eyes wet

He was dressed for a long journey
Unknowingly that it was his last
A red coloured T-shirt he was wearing
As if to warn against human rivalry

The challenges of destiny devastate
As ethnic ego overpowers humanity,
Man killing man and the plight leads
The meek to seek a land of peace

So hard to understand why a boy of tender age took refuge in another country and as a consequence his life is taken early. The evilness of humanity..
