Supermarket In Ontario (Aft. Allen Ginsberg)

Rating: 5.0

I dream of you, Emily
We're picking up ingredients
For apple pies and chocolate chip cookies
You were eyed by the store manager
Seeing if you get a five-finger discount--but I was
With the two men romantically holding hands
While they have their children in the shopping cart
One was trying to get the quarter out of the lock
The other was eating the grapes
We laugh as the men try to control their kids
As we check-out our purchases
We entered the darken night
That is sweeten with the stolen apple we ate

There is a wealth of profoundness in this stunning poem. And charming wit. And the kind of intrigue that urges the reader to google search Emily's influence on Ginsberg. What I found in the IOSR journal was absolutely fascinating! Please check it out!
