Sunset At Midday

Covid-19 became a global menace
Threatening the human race
Learning was brought to a standstill
More people became ill
Young girls dressed to kill
Not even sure about how they feel
Preferred the banana without the peel
Then forgot to take the pill

The world was engulfed in confusion.
Clergymen were urged to put it in supplication
Fewer books and more legs were opened
Parents wish schools were opened
But their daughters will hear none of it
As long as they have something to eat
They will school at their husband's place
Education was not worth the chase

School is cool
But who will go to school?
Boys are now motorbike and taxi operators
Income generators
Young fathers to their unborn bastards
They slog to raise their living standards
And feed their classmates
In whom they have found mates.
