Hi Callista. I really enjoyed this one. You know, I was thinking, it's maybe the attitude you reflect so beautifully toward this creature that unifies the thoughts as a poem, at least in this case. But I've often wondered, for my own writing, what made something a poem. Anyway, I enjoyed it. Thanks for your comments on my poems. If I dare say so, I think we have commonalities in our writing, like looking for deeper beauty and meaning in the things we see and trying to depict them in the mood they create in us. (also beauty in the language and in individual words) Ciou, Tom Courtney

The repeated line is so strong - and your metaphor quite stunningly maintained, gathering meaning as it goes.
