Congratulations on your 50th poem on this site! I enjoy reading your work and will be happy to have the chance to read more. This poem is wonderful. I think you touch on truth herein. When people become close, sharing at a soul level, as in a mature sexual relationship, they do indeed become linked. If the physical bond is severed there is still a link and they are obligated to each other in some ways.
