Somewhere Over The Rainbow

When Leon Russell's asked how do you write
Those amazing magic songs, way up high
In the Rock & Roll sky, he said: 'Oh, I just steal
From the best' - the very best (...)
And the dreams of Jumping Jack flash
That you once re-imagined in a Song of You
Once in a lullaby-Leon's service for mankind.

Somewhere over the purple rainbow of
George's charitable Concert of Bangladesh
Galloping wild horses, blue birds fly
And the Georgia on my Mind you dreamed of
Nightmares & dreams they do come true
Good Time Charlie's Got The Blues
Trying to be clever with Leon.

Someday I'll wish upon Dylan's blowing wind star
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney top
That's where you'll find
Leon Russell, founding father of
Frank Zappa & Dr. John the night tripper.

Well I see skies of blue, clouds of white
And the brightness of day, I like the dark
Well I see trees of green and red roses too
I'll watch them bloom for me and you
I hear babies cry and I watch them grow,
They'll learn much more than we'll know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people passing by
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney top
That's where you'll find magic Leon
Transporting people over their misery

Somewhere over the rainbow way up high
The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people passing by
I see friends shaking hands singing
'How do you do? ' They're really singing
'I, I love you, ' and the dream that
you dare to, Why oh, why can't I?

Footnote - Tribute to the person and the mesmerizing music
of Leon Russell (April 2,1942 - November 13,2016) whilst
stealing from the best-evergreen 'Somewhere over the rainbow'
(Songwriters: Harold Arlen and E Harburg) .
