Snow Fell Into A Blizzard

Sitting silently in the car waiting for partner to do the shop
Snow fell, very slowly at first, flurrying here and there
Thicker and thicker the scene became, heavier too, did not stop
Suddenly, erupted into a blizzard, just had to gape and stare
Could not see to the store beyond for groceries to glean
Yet, a distance of less than twenty yards over one row of cars
Flakes the size of toonies swirled and rested upon windscreen
Vision obliterated of everything beyond those fallen icy stars
Shoppers caught suddenly off guard when returning to their SUV
Enveloped completely within the all-consuming abrupt maelstrom
The stormy blizzard raged for more than two minutes, maybe three
Eased off slowly until a few lone flakes fluttered to rest alone
The sky cleared, sunrays shone on freshly snowed surfaces
Quickly, the flaky layers melted, began to dry with great rapid
Partner returned to car with full trolly-load of groceries
Removing mask and gloves, remarked was unaware of passing blizzard
Surprised when showed photo of scene blanketing out the store
Oblivious of outside, as wary scoping aisles, distancing 6ft or more
