Shikata Ga Nai Poem by Kevin Patrick

Shikata Ga Nai

Rating: 5.0

Cant save a flame when the wicks been licked
or hold the tide where the sandcastles swept
There's no use crying, when summer lies dying
The arrow wont pause and the future never slept

You can fix a roof but no dreams fireproofed
you got to pay the toll for any goal
as the higher you climb the harder you fall
with the dice you role you lose control

you can fight a cause but still get short changed
shout and scream until your face turns blue
but hopes a shadow with no substance
and justice will hang you before it will save you

trouble waits beyond your backyard
today's rebels tomorrows old guard
every cause has its cruel effect
choices is a coin from which we choose regrets
life is all just dominoes
that fall between the coffins shadows
