She was like a rainbow
A delight after a storm
Shimmering so elegantly
And vibrant against the backdrop of sky
Everyone gazing towards her magnificence
Delightful and dazzling like a summer bloom
But alas, gone too soon
For the arc of the rainbow
It slowly fades into the blue
Leaving us saddened, numb in the gloom.
She was like a rainbow
She shone so wonderfully, then
Faded and left us all behind.
Olivia, she will never be forgot.
wonderfully written elegy.. and nice comparison with beautiful imagery.
i like the alliteration: 'delightful/dazzling', and the repetition of 'she was like a rainbow'. mrs pez? nicely told. bri :)
Very sweet and lovely poem with a sad melody, I like this mourning poem for a sweet girl, Olivia.
It only took 9 years for me to appreciate this poem once more...bri : )
(cont ;) Oh! Now I've read your Poet's Notes. The 'Notes' is/are a tease, as I still only know and age of Olivia, and don't know who Mrs. Pez is/was.
Della, would that be Olivia Newton-John British-Australian singer and actress OR Dame Olivia Mary de Havilland DBE was a British and American actress? ? (cont.)
