Shattered Spell

Rating: 5.0

When the spell of love has burst,
Shattered crystal on the earth,
Pricked by envy and confusion,
Tested and revealed illusion;
It leaves a sudden emptiness,
A heartfelt dreary wariness;
The sky becomes a void of gray,
Hope dies homeless on the day;
Leaves drift shaken from the tree
And lays a bed that covers me;
The shards lie scattered in the lane,
And Love must wait 'till Spring again.
