Ripe For War Poem by Julia Luber

Ripe For War

Rating: 5.0

That day the sun seemed half the sky.
A trillion gazillion miles deep,
a billion miles wide.Just shy….
Of symptoms of infinity.Without measure, without obvious treasure,
without knowing where something ends.
So something bends and bends again.

And so tomorrow comes, and so does the next day.
So more by what is lived,
So less in what to say.

At least to do what's been done wrong oh to do it right,
At least to know one's reason beneath amorphous fight- -
And Otherwise…..

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This little poem introduces a chapter in the Afterloch where tribes are at a kind of war. How hero worship and need for victory establishes perimeters to fear of the infinite and eternity.
