'Redemption'

Rating: 5.0

Redemption is,
In youth's embrace, I danced through life's last chance,
Unmindful of life's intricate dance.
Each missed opportunity, a fleeting glance,
Too young to grasp consequences, circumstance.

Redemption's path, a winding trail,
Unveiling truths, as time set sail.
Aunt Shirley's gaze, a reflective mirror,
Her wisdom echoing, becoming clearer.

Through missteps and misguided strife,
I glimpsed the cost of a misguided life.
A crime unjust, shadows still remain,
A haunting echo, a lingering pain.

Understanding dawns with the aging sun,
Lessons learned, redemption begun.
In society's eyes, scars may persist,
Yet within, a journey to coexist.

Aunt Shirley's grace, a guiding light,
I seek redemption in the silent night.
For every missed chance, a chance anew,
To weave a tale of redemption true.

Redemption is going through life, making mistakes and having someone to direct us and lovingly making amends for our mistakes. Beautiful poem
