Protect Your Child Poem by Randy McClave

Protect Your Child

Protect your child
But, not only from the wild,
But, from those who want to corrupt
With thoughts and substances to erupt.
Do not just protect them from strangers
And all the worlds dangers,
Sometimes the best thing for them you can do
Is when you protect your child from people like you.
Do not teach your child how to swear
Or teach them about other they should not care,
Do not teach them how to be a user
Or how to be any type of abuser.
Do not allow or teach your child to curse
Instead take them to Sunday school for a verse,
And do not ever allow them to use tobacco
Treat them that true love is the best to bestow.
Do not allow them to drink alcohol
If so, that soon might be their greatest fall,
And do not give them any illegal drugs
If you love them, instead just give them hugs.
Be a role model for them
Don't make their life sad depressed or grim,
You are their role model
So, to raise them correctly and lovingly, do not coddle.
