A wonderful poem that touches on the essence of poetry. Yet, sometimes poetry works can instigate change in the minds of people who are inspired by the power of the words we put in it. Some of the classical poets have been considered.powerful in the earlier times. Some classical poems have been considered timeless and withstand the.tests of time. A well crafted and executed write.
Thanks so much Rose Marie...I agree with your comments. Shelley referred to poets as, ' the unacknowledged legislators of the world'. Nevertheless, I fear that other more novel, (some rather superficial) kinds of media have now taken hold of many minds. Hopefully poetry will continue to have an influence notwithstanding my skepticism.
