Every time you pick fruit
Bitter it turns out to be
Because it comes from a bitter tree

You pick bitter fruit
Because
Bitter fruit
Is always easy picking

When you find out
Just how bitter that fruit is
You feel so disappointed
It ain't hard picking bitter fruit
Because
Bitter fruit is always easy picking

You can't pick sweet fruit
From a bitter tree
And if the fruit is bitter
So you will be

Bitter fruit has a bitter taste
But bitter fruit
Is always easy picking
And because you don't really
Want to work hard!
That's the fruit you pick
