Our Dying Earth

Maybe we were not meant to travel
Or go further than our land
To eat food from faraway places, but
To be content with what is in our hand

Were diseases meant to be cured?
To prolong life and age
Were there supposed to be medicines, that
Keeps us longer on this earth's stage

Other earthly species accept death
Knowing not that it is due
Yet we go about thinking we are superior, still
Daming, destroying, polluting and without a clue

Our end is fixed but we know it not
The earth diseased and sick and it needs a cure
Purge it will to stay alive, seven billion
Souls will be lost for sure.
