Summer evening,
Hot and humid,
Half moon lights up the sky.
White jasmine mellows
The warm air with fragrance.
I take a deep breath.
Evenings such as these
Create a sacred sanctuary
From a world in turmoil.
An invisible virus
Unleashes the tsunami
Of illness.
Fear and uncertainty
Crumbles the familiar
Way of life.
No place to hide....
White petals of Jasmine
And half moon in sky
Calm as ever.
A silent message
Runs through my veins.
No place like home!
Savita! ! ! ! ! This is a magnificent poem! There's a soothing simple beauty to it that builds quietly in the reader's soul until not even the intrusion of the virus can take away the peace of the stars and the white petals of jasmine. You nailed it, Savita! ! ! ! ! ! ! And you conquered the monstrous fear that wants to cripple our enjoyment of God's creation and home. 10++++++++ and onto fav list
Yeah, in this present situation one is safe inside the home. A poem with a hidden message to take care during corona by staying in homes. Beautifully crafted with a sweet flow. Enjoyed. Thanks.
create a sacred sanctuary.........soiled by an invisible, , , , , , , visitation thanks for sharing the same to us
No place to hide Only home at these times... Simple lines capture the immensity of the situation very appropriately.
Indeed, to each person there is no place quite like home, no matter where he lives!
A silent message Runs through my veins. No place like home! A wonderful message Savita ji that rings loud and clear during this pandemic period. Thank you so much.
Very beautifully penned poetry madam where a home formed makes us live quite well. There is nothing like a home indeed.
p.s. in the 1930s? movie The Wizard of Oz i think it was " There's no place like home" which 'Dorothy' repeated to get 'back' to Kansas. I think my previous comment said somethin' a bit different. bri ;)
(cont.) 2 - " (There's No Place Like) Home For The Holidays by the Carpenters (singers) Oh, there's no place like home for the holidays, For no matter how far away you roam When you long for the sunshine of a friendly gaze, For the holidays - you can't beat home, sweet home" AND it's something " Dorothy" (Judy Garland) said in the movie " The Wizard of Oz" to help her get back to Kansas. bri :)
