No Excuses

I promise I have a reason,
and a good one too.
For not praying to You today.
Or worshoping You.

See, my day was really busy,
I just couldn't squeeze it in.
And then Sunday came around,
and my tired bones seemed to win.

I've got bills to pay,
and business calls to make.
I'm sorry God.
But me praying has to wait.

So I'll let another day pass,
and church on Sunday I wont attend.
And I'll tell myself that next week,
I'll make my schedule bend.

But, God, I think we both know,
that all my excuses are getting weak.
And one day my stress.
Has to reach it's peak.

And I can only hope,
that when that day arrives,
you'll be standing their with open arms.
To take me into Your life.

*****Poet's note***
Obviously, this is not something I've experience completely.
I don't know the stress of having to pay bills and all that stuff.
So, anyway hope you enjoy! -Kimber H.
