My two favorite lines... I'm needing you like Nature needs Spring To rub Winter's sleep from her eyes A beautiful simile that in spite of its simplicity I have never heard before and believe is the best line in the poem. The only thing missing for me here is the realization that when we think Love is missing that it is we who are asleep, and worshiping any human love is surely a mistake. How can God be missing from His church? He is the church but being in church is not a ticket to see Him though for me He is always visible in the love others show me.
The reader feels the deep anguish of the forsaken poetess as she reaches out from the chill of loneliness for the warmth of the love she so desperately misses………….. When the object of worship is absent, How cold and empty is the church.......... Two great lines here, Lora
Somehow love always has needs between two people, it's an invitation for giving and taking, sharing life's blessings together. These are my thoughts as I read this poem. Very well written! Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn
