When time stands still life peaks they say,
As time is forgotten in joy and play,
With eyes wide bright and lips stretched tight,
Those glittering pebbles of tiny white,
Bring fire to the soul that warms our hearts.
And for one short moment…
All is right.
Time is fleeting or so they say,
One year, two years here and gone,
But love it builds from day one and on
For two full years now,
You've been my son.
Two years is short or so they claim,
But the joy you've brought has changed the frame
of life, of time, of love, for me,
For the first time I can see
While time may still flow from river to sea,
For me, it stands still, in awe of thee.
I won't even notice when you turn three!
So thank you my boy, for the light you bring;
Being your baba is a wonderful thing,
For two years I've loved you and what is more,
The lion inside you is now starting to roar!
Set him free and arm him well,
With wings of dreams and passion to swell
The hearts of those whose roars they quell.
For a light you are to all who dwell upon this earth
And under heaven's shell.
