............
The stars were crimson,
Fierce and bright,
And fired up
Our winter night.
And you missed their
Starlit soirée.
All because you
Went away.
You missed the falling
Of the leaves this year,
And the evening visits
From the wild deer.
You missed the storms
That shaded May,
And the summer song
Of kids at play.
You missed the Roses
Of July,
And how their blossoms
Reached into the sky.
You missed our late
Afternoon walks,
And our Summer's
Equinox.
You missed the harvest
Of the grain,
You missed the
Late October rain.
You missed our gentle
Beggar's moon,
And the shade of
Autumn's afternoon.
You missed the kiss
Of Christmas dawn,
You missed the frost
That draped our lawn.
You missed the silvered snows
Our winter blew.
But do you know, my friend,
How much we miss you?
