Missing You Poem by Mark Graham

Missing You

Missing You (For Lynette)

You may wonder if I miss you, or care if you're not here,
You may wonder if I miss holding you or if I have shed a single tear.
You may wonder if the house feels empty, or if our bed is cold at night
You may wonder all of these things, for without you my life is just not right.

I miss you as much the sky misses the sunshine during a storm,
I miss you as much as a mother longs for her baby to be born,
I miss you as much the salmon craves the freedom of the sea.
I miss you as much as the bird needs the safety of a tree.

I want you home in my arms, forever in my heart,
I want to wrap myself around you for we're not meant to be apart,
I want to kiss your lips so softly and take your hand in mine
I want to love you forever, ‘til the sands run out of time.

So your home is calling to you, with love I patiently wait,
So come to me my angel for the hour does grow late,
So travel as fast as light, and light as air, a breath within a gale,
So home to where your heart does lie, with a love that will not fail.
