I stand at the edge of a dangerous shore,
As waves of fear curl all around my toes.
There is rage and thunder all around,
Yet today I decide to stand my ground.
My ill-fitting answers and awkward clothes,
My prayers and pleas they calmly ignore,
In my breast sorrow and misery abound,
Yet they will not bring me down.
The night is deceptive and dark with hate,
As they take their sweet time to decide my fate,
I endure their sneers and smirks through it all,
And decide right there that I will never fall.
I will never succumb to the pangs of adversity,
The blows of failure and abuse will never touch me.
No matter thehurdles why should I quit or resign,
When my power lies at the fingertips of my mind?
