Matrix Of Dharmic Caste System Poem by Kiran Pillai

Matrix Of Dharmic Caste System

Rating: 3.5

I just want to be of service to the world.
Does that really make me a shudra?
I hear shudras do service and the rest don't.
But, is not the Kshatriya also of service?

In fact the Armed forces are called Services.
Then, why the label of service to Shudra?
Does this caste questioning make me bad?
I know caste is not of birth, but of deed.

India speaks a lot of caste. It never touches me.
At times, I am a shudra. But, I also am a vaishya.
When I learn, I am Brahmin and when pushed...
Kshatriya in me raises that brave head.

If I want to be of service of the world,
I can start to teach what I learned.
That makes me a Brahmin; also a Shudra
As learning is a service to the world.

If I save a man from death, I am Kshatriya.
Learning can save a man from ignorance.
So, is Brahmin becoming a Kshatriya too?
What about Business as a service then?

Vaisyas are doing all kinds of business.
Business retains sanity in the world today.
So Vaisyas are of service too involving wealth.
Someone said, "Money is root of all evil"; is it?

So, all four castes are being of service to world.
In a Dharmic Matrix of ancient India.
Some chosen ones stepped out of the matrix
And delivered us the Shastras; pure and clean!

I choose to participate in the Matrix today.
The Matrix that was not designed in a lifetime.
Caste system and economics fragments our mind today.
I am still tied to this matrix that sustains this life.
