Mars Poem by james watkin

Mars

Standard bearer of the world's warriors.
Bloodied breeder of the brute in man.
'Indomitable' scratched into his saddle-cloth.
'Unmerciful' stamped upon yataghan.

Ready the hates and hard countenance.
Ready what, lurking, devours
In savageries, easy-provoked.
Superiorities, their's and yours!

Ready, bugler, to manic discharge.
Ready, with cross and coffin.
The same are trampled of Mars'hooves
Who hail his galloping in.
