Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe

Widescreen on the wall
Few guys; mostly gals
Talk is ‘look’; in class
Male gaze and many ‘whys? ’

She’s woman with the curves
Dumb-brave, can undress.
Some shout-claim: “Is shameless.
Showing legs; all the way
Naked-nude and shaven, ”

Men in bar, sunflowers,
Eyes, apples in sockets,
Morals run as Questions.
“What’s right-wrong? ”

Time rolls on, like river
It goes, goes, no return
New comes with changes.

As says song; that she sings
In movie ‘River…no return’

One whispers: “Who is she? ”
Another: “example of shameless? ”
Then the third: “Role Model? ”

Ash is gone as wind comes.
Deep below burns fire
Patriarchs, law-setters
(The rulers of ages,)
Autocrats, hypocrites

New asks:
Who is who?
What is what?
Who defines?
