MAGNIFICENT NAGAMANI
have no doubts, Nagu is the better half
seeing whose many skills, their hats friends doff
I get good marks too, for life seems so smooth,
busy with few odd chores, like the milk booth
we are as one since many a decade;
you see, with age, love quadruples, doesn't fade
'eat for health but don't indulge', we agree;
I break the rule, but there is no spree
when I feel sick, with Nagu's remedies,
soon, I'm up and ready for parodies
we meet doctor if in bad shape;
surgeon's knives, touch wood, we mostly escaped
Nagu leads our war on Covid
with her, locked out virus* might be livid
under her care, daughters have grown
as good citizens, we hope they are known
for men (like me) household tasks seem onerous
with the nitty-gritty we loose focus
women (like Nagu) , are of sterner stuff
to do things, if need be, they huff and puff
Nagu also has other dimensions
her talents have sheen which none can shun
to start with, she writes short gripping stories
read and soon you will sing their glory
of the epics, her knowledge leaves me stunned
I quiz; she answers, in mere seconds
she sings and plays the sitar when in mood
hope you see, her fine cross-stitch work; you should
one might ask: 'what is your role, in this tale? '
good question, on its head, it hits the nail.
ship runs best when engines work in tandem
by grace of God, no doubts run at our helm
