Looking Outside On A Rainy Night

It's raining outside I can hear the pitter patter
Getting louder and louder like the Mad Hatter;
I don't think it will stop.
Watching the rain come down and listen to it chatter.

My mind starts to wander as the rain comes down
To stop without knowing or hearing a sound
I see the woods and a nearby lake
As the rain comes harder and pounds the ground.

I sit by the fireplace with book in hand
And see the candle burning on the night stand
My mind starts to wander one more time
I want it to stop now on my command.

I look through my window the rain has stopped,
I go back to the fireplace with my mind unlocked,
And I sit in my chair with my head now dropped,
And I sit in my chair with my head now dropped,
