Bamboo Twigs Songs No.1 (Of 2)
- Liu Yuxi
- Translated by Frank C Yue

So green, green the willows,
Serenely the river flows.
On the river I hear My Love singing;
To the East, the Sun's shining, to the West, it's showering!
Some may say my Sun's gone, and I say my Sun's aglow.
With great passion, our Love is strong and shall grow!

Song of Bamboo Twigs, I of Two [*Green, O green is the willow...]
- Liu Yuxi (772-842)

Green, O green is the willow, placid, peaceful the flow;
Hark and I hear on the river, songs from my love, my beau.
To the east, the sun is up, to the west, drizzles persist;
Though they say the sun is naught, to me, the sun is aglow.
