'Legacy Echoes: A Tribute To Martin Luther King Jr.'

The racist white man sought to rewrite,
History silenced, your valiant fight.
In spiteful acts, your flesh they'd slay,
Opposed to views on mistreating the African-American way.
Segregation, deemed not right,
In death, they believed, all would stay quiet.

Little did they know, your voice remains,
In famous quotes, a legacy that sustains.
Your fight for justice knows no rest,
The world acknowledges, you gave your best.
Spiritual energy, present till this day,
Resists fading, ensuring you stay.

Compassion for humanity, in every heart,
Never to depart, a timeless art.
Equality for all, your role instrumental,
In the American civil rights movement, monumental.
Martin, you battled injustices, heard the cries,
Brought issues to the public's watchful eyes.

Against the wicked sin, despising skin's hue,
Melanated prayers, seeking breakthrough.
Existence on this earth not a mist,
But a positive impact, not to be dismissed.
A special day carved, a federal holiday,
Institutions closed, in your loving view, to pay homage.

'I Have a Dream, ' in '63 supreme,
From Lincoln's steps, a resonating theme.
Recited to remember your civil rights fight,
Echoing through both day and night.
Memorable speeches, a solid ground,
Pressure words enduring, always around.

Nobel Peace Prize in '64, a humble rise,
An acceptance speech that touched the skies.
'Our God is Marching On! ' in Selma's song,
Inspiring, in Alabama, where you stood strong.
