A beautiful depiction of the lovely sparrows. The great images embedded in this write made me at close range with these wonderful birds.

A beautifully crafted poem on sparrows who have reminded you of your past days.They have not disappeared, we see them here in Odisha.Perhaps change of environment by human doings is not conducive to thei breeding and nesting habit.
I don't see them often as in my childhood days. They are joy to watch. I remember during sunset, in bamboo tree their settling sounds. Wonderful reminder Geetaji...

2. I was reading the autobiography of renowned Ornithologist Dr Salim Ali (The Fall of A Sparrow) and was deeply disheartened on his finding about bird-species that were extinct during his life time.
Sparrows are so common-place and abundant in numbers that we often take them for granted. But, it is a grave fact that their numbers are coming down.
The lovely poem also expresses in beautiful detail the wonderful attributes of these fascinating birds.
