I am very proud to read about my birthplace in such a subtle flair. Great on your part Geeta Menon
Part 2. But it was a way of living for many people of the yore. There were many "Kalaris" that trained young men and women in Payattu. Each Chieftain retained a small army -men and women trained in Kalari Payattu. They were often called on by the kings to assist them when a war broke out among them.
Kalari Payattu is Kerala's own martial art form. Especially of the North Kerala. Kalari Payattu is now practiced and promoted as an art form.
