Depths I care not to observe
Of care, Of hurt, Of pride, Of love
Depths I care not to try fathom
Of worship, Of friendship, Of like, Of love
Of what purpose, will it all be?
To know, how much, how deep I feel?
To know, how sweet, the bitter despair
How gentle it quivers, love and care?
Sighs and smiles, when by none seen
Silenced cries, when thoughts've been
Through mine mind, through mine heart
Much or less, how it'd matter to me?
All the measures, All the counts
To what will it all surmount?
Number I could all tears, all peals
Of laughter, but I'd still all feel
Still, when the knell hath rung
Joys hath shone, hate hath stung
Larger it'd seem than it'd be may
Harsher it'd fall, it'd feel nay?
All thy holds, it'd then defy
All that thou wish to quantify
All thy questions of 'How much? ' I'd keep
Far away and I'd sit then in peace
And tell you then, O' much you think!
Depths I care not to measure or see
Come, friend, for that heart, for once, just feel.
