Jummah's Essence, Peace Of Mind Poem by Dr Shamim Ali

On Jumma, the call to prayer is heard,
A sacred echo, a reverent word,
The day of Jummah, a beacon bright,
Guiding hearts to a path of light.

In the mosque, we gather as one,
In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Compassionate,
Seeking blessings, forgiveness, divine grace,
In this holy, communal space.

The Imam speaks, wisdom flows,
A river of knowledge, as faith grows,
Lessons of mercy, unity, peace,
In these moments, our burdens cease.

Historical echoes, spiritual ties,
Elevate our souls to the skies,
From Prophet's time, this tradition stays,
A testament to our faithful ways.

Obliged we are to heed the call,
To stand together, strong and tall,
In rows, in prayer, shoulder to shoulder,
As the world outside grows colder.

Oh, Jummah, day of mercy, day of love,
May Allah's blessings rain from above,
Grant us the strength to always attend,
And with your wisdom, our hearts to mend.

May we cherish this day, its sacred fire,
In Allah's guidance, we aspire,
To gather, to pray, to seek and find,
In Jummah's essence, peace of mind.
