Individuality Poem by Armita Shad

Individuality

Rating: 5.0

By the color of your skin,
Or the place of your birth.
The sound of your voice,
and the mindset you've forged.
Individuality.
Comparable to the gem.
The distinction between the red
shimmering glow of the Ruby,
and the lustrous radiance of the
Amethyst.
Though they both gleam,
they gleam separately
and are noticeable among rocks.
Rise then, above the lifeless fields of grey.
Highlight them with a sudden blooming of color.
Pigment them with the strength of your hue.
Boast your salience.
After all,
Only the brightest of stars are seen by the
naked eye.

A beautifully written poem on individuality. Love the comparison to the different gemstones! Nicely done!

A very deep poem. I sometimes don't get why people get separated because of their skin colour.
