Imaginary Friend

When I was just a little girl
I loved to pretend
I would laugh and joke and play
With my imaginary friend
We ran, we skipped, we hopped
The fun never stopped
When I got older
And understood you had to go
I held the pain inside
So it wouldn't show
I loved you more than anything
You were my best friend
I didn't want it to end
But even though you're far away
You're still here in my heart
If I just hold on
I know we'll never part.
