I Wonder

Rating: 5.0

I Wonder

The future belongs to ones and zeros
Encoders and decoders able to arrange these
Bits of zeros and ones arranged correctly
No bits dropped along the way
And the means to shake hands
So fast as if imagined
So that the message received is loud and clear
If not, the nuclear holocaust will be unimaginable
A 'Hello' message
Received as a hypersonic missile launch.

People will soon scatter all over the Milky Way
Some on Mars
A message taking 22 minutes to earth.
Some on Jupiter's moons
And others beyond our solar system
Maybe even in a different galaxy
A man on earth talking to his lover on Mars
Worse on Alpha Centauri?
'I Love You'
Taking 4.3 years to arrive

The future belongs to ones and zeros
Encoders and decoders able to arrange these
That's the future
And the future is here.
Are we ready?
I wonder

Artificial Intelligence is real and waiting to think for itself. Then things get scary….
